Biomedical Device Technology Program

The need for intermediate staff with technical and scientific knowledge who will carry out the design and development applications of biomedical systems and take part in the efficient use of the systems is increasing day by day. The number of biomedical devices and systems used in our country has increased 7 times with the developing technology in the last 20 years. Medical devices and systems are used 20 thousand different types in hospitals, approximately. The aim of this program is to train intermediate staff who will work for the installation, maintenance and repair of instruments and devices used for diagnosis and treatment in the field of health.

A biomedical device technician are expected to abilities as following;
- Willingness in the field of Science and Technology,
- An interest in electromechanics,
- Skillfully usage of hands and fingers,
- Can perceive Electromechanical relations,
- Sight and hearing organs are intact,
- Enjoys helping people,
- People with a strong sense of responsibility
Graduaters who complete the biomedical device technology program are given the title of "Biomedical Device Technician". Graduates can work privately or officially, as well as establish their own businesses. Biomedical device technicians can assemble and maintain the instruments and devices used in medicine and biological sciences in the field in accordance with their technical drawings, and can repair them by locating them when there is a malfunction.
Biomedical device technicians; They work in public and private hospitals, laboratories, dispensaries, medical device factories, medical equipment repair and maintenance workshops or services.  In addition, if graduates want to continue their undergraduate education, they can gain the right to pass to the following undergraduate programs with the External Transfer Exam (DGS):
